I've been looking for a way to export bookmarks from a pdf using acrobats sdk, but have had no luck...what methods are you invoking?

bookmark titles can't be exported using OLE objects. I use acrobats AFORMAUTLib to execute javascript within the pdf to export bookmark titles, then use PDBookmark to link the bookmark destinations to their relevant titles. Email me for source details.

I appreciate the fact that you went through the trouble of including a .php file for web pulication. I noticed that the text search on the web version is done with a php script as opposed to flash actually doing the search(which is the case for the projector version).....any chance of getting those .php pages in .asp or .aspx?

sure. Send me an email. I'll respond with a zip with asp pages. Future builds will include asp matching pages as well.

what's the difference between web-magazine.php and display-magazine.php?
Comment by Matt Cline
Submitted on 5/1/2008 1:26:15 PM
the only differnce is that web-magazine.php has web-player.swf embedded in it. web-player.swf is a low-fat version of the player that can be used to display the flash pdf in a frame as opposed to full screen. It has no search features among other small differences. It has a button on it which will launch the movie in full screen.

I have been trying to use your application. I have a few questions:1. I have a lot of fonts which are not available on the PC by default. Normally, I convert these to unicode. How can I do this using your application? 2. Considering that point

Hi,I'm interested in a linux version of this, how is pdf2xml broken down into what is done by pdftohtml/pdf2swf, and what is windows specific, etc?I'm also very interested in the player part.
Comment by Matt Cline
Submitted on 6/23/2008 6:59:03 AM
well first and foremost its windows specific because the front end of pdf2xml is .net. pdf2swf handles swf gen, pdf2html outputs the bookmarks and text search xml and pdfimages generates thumbnails. None of those apps are windows specific so you could make your own linux based front end. I have made pdf2xml relevant changes to pdf2swf and pdftohtml and recompiled them...mainly to get bookmarks out of pdftohtml.

I'd also love to see a Linux version as there is no Windows system in reach :)I tried running pdf2xml under wine, the installation was successful, but trying to run it results in"install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables"Would it be possible to have a GUI-stripped command line version of pdf2xml? That would probably build natively under Linux. Thanks!
